THE CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS ARE BACK IN 2022
The Christmas workshops return to the various headquarters of the Open Architecture Centre during the holidays, with many proposals to bring architecture closer to the public, and especially to children. Here you will find all the programming for each location and the links to access more information on each activity, recommended ages, timetables and registration systems. All workshops are free, but places are limited!
Barcelona Headquarters
There will be four workshops organised together with the Jordi Capell Cooperative: “Papermaking. Create by playing with paper”, origami workshops to stimulate children in the processes of creativity, imagination, development of manual skills, creation of geometric concepts and composition, group work and, above all, fun; “Urban Shelters”, an activity that aims to focus on the micro-world of urban vegetation through construction, photography and drawing; “Leonardo’s Dome”, from specially designed pieces of wood, several structures of around 4 metres in diameter can be built without any connecting elements and, finally, “Kapla. Large-scale construction”, through this game of wooden pieces you will be able to make amazing large constructions of 1000 pieces to build emblematic buildings of the city, while working on the geometry of the space and the coordination of movements.

Girona headquarters
On December 17, at 10 a.m., the Christmas Lights construction workshop will take place so that we can all make the most magical lantern of the holidays! We will work with our hands and teach basic notions of architecture, lights and shadows with simple cardboard, twigs and paper to build extraordinary geometries that generate emotions.
Vic headquarters
The “Young architects’s activity”, which usually took place at the Vic headquarters, will once again take place as part of the City’s Children’s Festival. The headquarters in Vic therefore collaborates by providing material for the realisation of construction workshops with Lego pieces and, thus, favouring that children can discover different aspects of architecture and at the same time develop a pedagogical mechanism through construction in a playful way. It will be a way to bring architecture closer to more children and to enjoy more activities! The activity will take place on December 27, 28, 29 and 30 and January 1, 2 and 3, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the EL SUCRE fairground.
