First session of the lecture series “Europa Europa 2” featuring architect Leopold Banchini, introduced by Igor Urdampilleta, member of the studio Arquitectura-G.

The series aims to showcase contemporary European architecture through the presentation of the work of eight guest architects, each introduced by Catalan architects.

 

Leopold Banchini

Guest professor at HEAD (Haute École et de Design) in Geneva since 2010 and assistant professor at EPFL since 2009. He was the designer of the Archozoom project in 2009 and interned at Lot/ek Architects (New York) between 2004 and 2005. Since 2008, he has been part of 1to100 Architects, a collective based in Geneva.

This collective has played an active and decisive role in projects such as Bahrain's award-winning participation at the Venice Biennale (RECLAIM Golden Lion 2011), exhibitions like "The Gulf" (with the participation of OMA-AMO at the 2007 Venice Biennale), and publications such as "Al Manakh" by AMO-Rem Koolhaas. Additionally, they are engaged in various initiatives spanning architecture, journalism, and urban design. They also serve as professors at EPFL and the University of Art and Design in Geneva.
