The exhibition, the first of the MIRADES Cycle at the headquarters in Tarragona, dedicated this year to WATER, features about twenty images by the photographer Pep Escoda and offers a perspective on this natural element, as the title indicates, of water and the sea.
Pep Escoda
Born in Tarragona in 1958, he has been working as a professional photographer since 1990. Although he specialized in interior and architectural photography, he has covered various photographic specialties throughout his career. He has won 21 Lux awards in various categories, including portrait, landscape, architecture, and personal projects.
His photographs have been published in over 150 books by publishers such as Taschen, Daab, Teneues, Harper Design New York, New York Times, Forbes Magazine, and ICON Magazine, among others.
He has been part of many solo and group exhibitions, including those at the Tagomago gallery in Barcelona and Paris. Other notable exhibitions include "Sincerely Yours" at the Valid Foto gallery in Barcelona, "Passion and Melody of the Mediterranean" at the Contemporary Art Center of Saint Petersburg, and "Retrats" at Tinglado Dos on the Tarragona waterfront.
The MIRADES exhibition cycle is a cultural initiative that weaves through the entire territory in a collaborative manner, showcasing local heritage through the observation of the four elements of nature: water, earth, fire, and air. Each of these elements will be the subject of an annual exhibition, completing the series over four years and enriching the legacy of the historical archive of the Architects' Association with the donation of photographic records that will shape the exhibitions. In this way, from a local perspective, we will share and discuss commitments of a global nature
