4th edition of the Barcelona Architecture Showcase / Nou Barris

The exhibition of the 4th edition of the Barcelona Architecture Showcase begins its tour through the Network of Libraries of the Diputació de Barcelona at the Biblioteca Zona Nord – Maria Sánchez, in the Nou Barris district.

This exhibition, the result of the competition held in 2021 by the Barcelona branch, presents in a playful and flexible manner the various works and projects submitted to the “Mostres d’Arquitectura catalana” program, in this case, the 4th edition of Barcelona. These works are reproduced on a series of panels that are placed within the different modules that make up the exhibition, inviting visitors to interact and gradually discover the displayed material.

The material is organized in different wooden modules: a combination of boxes and filing cabinets that allow varying degrees of exposure of the contents. It also facilitates the creation of a narrative thread in the staging of the system, which changes depending on the space in which it is located, thus adopting different groupings. Special consideration is given to the accessibility criteria provided, with a broad perspective.

The exhibition, designed by Salvestudio, a team formed by Jordi Quetglas and Mireia Costa, is easy to assemble and simple, while minimizing packaging materials, with the display module itself becoming the container for the exhibited material. Produced under the direction of Salvestudio at the carpentry Estudi Ferran Sendra in Cornellà de Llobregat, led by architect Ariadna Sendra, the exhibition also highlights the added value and business innovation of the industry that supports architects.
