On the morning of Saturday, May 14, on the outstanding Les Corts Architecture Festival, we will rebuild the inclusive district by turning Pau Gargallo Street, on the south Diagonal campus, into a pedestrian zone where creativity will be stimulated. Thus, workshops will be held to build structures with recycled materials and there will be wheelchair tours to raise awareness for an accessible and inclusive campus. The aim of this festival is for this public space to be cohesive between the different universities, and why not, once a month, science and art take to the streets to awaken professional vocations. This is a challenge to be achieved in 2026, when the World Capital of Architecture is celebrated.
With the help of various collaborating entities, we look forward to sharing the following ACTIVITIES:
- 12pm A welcome from COAC Barcelona
- 12.10pm UPC-We decide Barcelona Proposal (Jordi Ros, Vice-Rector for Architecture, Infrastructure and Territory at UPC)
- 12.50pm Presentation of the Pediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona Therapeutic Space Competition (Marina Cervera, research professor of Urbanism and Spatial Planning at ETSAB)
- 11-14h “Art and Science in the Street” Workshops
- ETSAB, Low-Cost Technologies
- LeonarDome (COAC Barcelona)
- Ephemeral reed hut workshop (Voltes Cooperativa d’Arquitectura)
- Accessibility Workshop (COAC Architecture and Accessibility Open Group)
- 11-14h Mapathon for inclusion on the South Campus (COAC + UPC)

ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL 2022
As part of the 2022 Architecture Festival, the COAC’s Barcelona Demarcation is holding 10 Architecture Festivals, one for each of the city’s districts. All these parties are face-to-face and open to the public, always respecting health safety measures.
Organised by the different Territorial Groups of Architects of Barcelona, together with other entities such as residents’ associations, universities, architects¡ offices or different schools in each district, these festivals have as their main objective to claim a space or an emblematic building in each district. Guided tours, talks, concerts and various types of workshops are organised around these public spaces and buildings, among others. The ultimate goal is to highlight the profession of architects and their social function, always aimed at serving the public.
