The exhibition “LA SEU DE MANRESA, 700 YEARS / From Berenguer de Montagut to Gaudí”, curated by Fermí Bataller and Francesc Rafat, takes its inspiration from the 3D modelling of the basilica’s evolution that Fermí Bataller created for the documentary La Seu de Manresa, set segles de vida (La Seu de Manresa, seven centuries of life), which can also be seen in the exhibition room. Using 3D-printing technology, models have been made of the different construction periods of Manresa’s cathedral, La Seu, from the Romanesque church of the 12th century to the present-day basilica.
This work also aims to pay a small tribute to the master builder Berenguer de Montagut, of whom so little is known, but who, seven centuries ago, put all his knowledge at the service of the city that entrusted him with the design of this church.
To accompany the exhibition, a book-catalogue has been published that can be purchased at the Manresa branch of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (price: €10).
