Structured in four parts – a first and central one that refers to the Mañach Furniture, the second to the Mañach house, the third to the reform project and ascent to Gran Via de Barcelona, and the fourth to the project at the National University of Colombia in Bogotá – this exhibition celebrates the donation of the professional archive that the architect Josep Llinàs made to the Historical Archive of the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya in 2023. However, instead of focusing on an anthological vision of past works, the exhibition focuses on the latest projects, some of which are still ongoing.
The exhibition is the 29th in the “Collections” series, initiated in 2015, in which material kept by the Historical Archive is shown to publicize the rich documentary heritage of the COAC. Since 1969, the Historical Archive has been responsible for recovering and preserving the documentary heritage generated by architects and the world of architecture. Thus, it safeguards the archives of more than one hundred and fifty architects, mainly from donations, which have made it grow over time and have made it one of the most important documentation centers in Europe with more than two million documents.
