The opening of the exhibition ‘Correa&Milá, in perspective’ will consist of a round table with the designer Miguel Milá and the architects Oscar Tusquets, David Ferrer and Elías Torres.
In this session, two aspects outside the orthodox architectural practice but fundamental in Correa & Milá’s career will be addressed: furniture design and teaching.
To delve deeper into furniture design, we will have Miguel Milá, Alfonso’s brother and collaborator of the studio in its beginnings. His career as a pioneer of product design in Spain has been linked to leading business adventures in design production and publishing such as Tramo, Gres, Polinax or DAE, either as an entrepreneur or as a reference designer, the main witness of which is collected today by the company Santa & Cole.
Oscar Tusquets will stress the importance of these first experiences to develop what we would later know as design publishers, being BD Ediciones de Diseño – founded by Tusquets himself along with other colleagues – the great and first reference.
David Ferrer and Elías Torres, who were students of Federico Correa at ETSAB at the time, as well as Tusquets, will develop how his Composition lessons dazzled them in a School of Architecture located in a still grey Barcelona and how, together with Alfonso Milá’s character, they finished constituting what would become for them a way of being in the world.
The debate will be moderated by the curators of the exhibition: AMOO (Aureli Mora and Omar Ornaque).
Afterwards, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition.
